Ascend Gateway International has entered a public–private partnership to develop the Philippines' first commercial spaceport at Cagayan North International Airport in Lal-lo, Cagayan. The consortium brings together the Philippine Space Agency (PhilSA), the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), the Cagayan Economic Zone Authority (CEZA), Ascend Gateway, and Perigee Aerospace of South Korea. The parties signed a memorandum of understanding in March 2026, formalizing collaboration that began in 2022.
The spaceport sits within the CEZA freeport and operates on the existing 2.1 km ICAO-certified runway at Cagayan North International Airport. Ascend Gateway serves as operator, developer, and commercial point of contact for the hub.
Perigee Aerospace joins as launch partner. Perigee was the first company in South Korea to privately develop a liquid-fueled launch vehicle and brings that engineering and launch experience to the Philippine program.
First launch is targeted for early 2027. The spaceport is the first step of the Philippine Commercial Space Corridor, which links the Lal-lo spaceport, Port Irene, and the CEZA industrial zones.
Ascend Gateway is accepting inquiries from launch providers and aviation operators. Contact the mission-integration team for future launches.
